New York, New York
The town so nice hot and muggy, they named it twice. Just got back from the Statue of Liberty tour today, it was hot and sticky and… well, annoying as hell.  We had to clear through airport-style security not once, but TWICE to get into the actual monument.  The metal detector beeped at me, dispite me not having a single bit of metal on me, confirmed by the wand-swipes. I honestly think...

x-vii: Nerdery ahead: I took a trip to Chicago over the weekend for Games Day Chicago 2008 in order to play Warhammer Online. I did a writeup for Ten Ton Hammer, and you can read the article here: http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/39525. ELL OH ELL I posted the link to the newsletter so fast, I didn’t realize it was you.  Sweet, and well-done!

By Jeff “Ethec” Woleslagle, Executive Editor While Western eyes are watching E3, the other side of the Pacific - China in particular - has a few surprises of its own. Ten Ton Hammer has the scoop on one such happening at ChinaJoy: THQ / Relic, in partnership with Shanda Interactive Entertainment, is releasing a free-to-play version of the bestselling WWII RTS Company of Heroes (CoH). Tumblr iPhone App Wishlist
joelaz: I want a Tumblr iPhone app that lets me… View the Dashboard in an iPhone-optimized layout.  Unfortunately, I think only Tumblr staff can create this feature since they don’t expose Dashboard data through the API (which is a big mistake and the reason the Tumblr API hasn’t really taken off like Twitter’s in my opinion) Post photos directly from the iPhone camera or camera roll without...

Capitalization Could Disappear?
tristanjay7: shutupinternet: To the “scholars,” the only exercise you guys is get jumping to conclusions. The Internet changed the way we live and communicate, yes, but it’s not leading to the downfall and stupefying of the human race. Just because things change in some aspects doesn’t mean that they’ll change every aspect in the way we communicate. People dress informally when they’re going...

Wax Political
adam-weeks : This is totally not like me but I’m tired of it and I’m hopping on my soapbox. Why, oh why, aren’t we allowed to blame the oil corporations for the gas prices?  I’m constantly reminded by “some people” that the gas prices are our own fault because we won’t drill for oil locally.  Really?  That’s the primary cause?  The last time I looked the oil companies were raking in...

'Muh Back!': The Update
The doctor I saw last week was sympathetic and gave me a bag full of good pain drugs, and a med chit authorizing half-days of work for the next month.  Hello, afternoon XBox! Still walking with the cane off and on, but the pain is much diminished.  I have no feeling in my left foot on the outside edge, though, which is annoying.  It gives me a gait resembling something from a zombie movie. The...
